It was a delight to welcome our final round of judging by DEC for our students’ architectural models. Year 9 DT undertook a project working along with Design Engineer Construct to create an inclusive home for the future for everyone. Over the past term students have created client profiles, drawn their homes in two point perspective and created elevation drawings. Students have researched energy efficient profiles of houses and thought about how it could be applied to their own designs to make them future proof.  Daniel the founder of DEC spoke to the students about the opportunities with civil and structural engineering, architecture and facilities management. Students had the opportunity to talk about their models with Daniel and special guests with our new partnership companies for DEC.

We are so happy to announce we have been paired with the NHS, Kier Group and Turner & Townsend to help with our DT projects. Southmoor Academy is looking forward to working with you next year and seeking amazing opportunities.
